To help you have the best experience possible, here are some tips that could be useful!
To help protect your land, we've implemented the mod FTB Chunks that allows you to claim chunks of land. A chunk is a 16x16 block area that extends from bedrock to build limit where only you and those you allow can break or place blocks, as well as interact with things in your claim.
To get started, you can claim chunks in 2 ways: through JourneyMap or your inventory.
JourneyMap:
Open your map by pressing "M" (try "J" if this doesn't work)
On the right-hand side, there should be three buttons: a 9x9 grid icon, an FTB icon, and a diamond icon. Click on the 9x9 grid icon to enter FTBChunks Claiming Mode.
A white square overlay will now appear on your map, and you can claim any chunks in that square. Simply left-click on a chunk to claim it and right-click on a chunk to unclaim it. Advanced users can shift-left-click on a chunk to "forceload" it and shift-right-click to un-forceload. This is useful if you want to keep things happening at your base while you're away, like keeping crops growing or furnaces cooking.
Inventory:
Open your inventory
On the top-left corner, there should be two map icons: one labeled FTB Chunks Map and the other FTB Chunks Claim Manager. Click on the Claim Manager.
A map will appear, and you can claim any chunks on the map.
Now your chunks are claimed!
Note: Certain blocks have been allowed in claimed chunks, such as Gravestones and Waystones. Don't be afraid to use them! (although maybe try to make them accessible)
Don't want to keep a mental map of where everything is? Make a waypoint! You can quickly make a waypoint by pressing "I" (if that doesn't work, try "B"). You can name it, change the color, and modify it how you wish. Once done, you will have an indicator on your minimap and your world map showing the location. Open the waypoint manager by pressing "O" or through your world map menu by pressing "M". You can toggle the visibility, delete them, or share them in chat. Don't be shy!
At the time of writing, there are two kits players can use: StoneTools and ModBooks.
While trying to keep things balanced, there are several ways that anyone can teleport through commands. You can set a home to easily teleport back to, teleport to warps made by admins, or teleport to spawn.
/sethome - Sets a home at your current location (players are normally limited to only 1 home)
/delhome - Deletes your home (you can easily make another)
/home - Teleports you to your home
Bear in mind that there is a long cooldown for using the /home command. For easier ways to teleport, look into the Waystones mod.
/warp [warp] - Teleports you to a warp
/spawn - Teleports you to spawn
If you die, you can use the /back command to easily teleport back to your death location. Be careful, though. You can only use /back every once in a while, and if you die again, you may need to trek to get your things.
/back - Teleports you to your death location
Who doesn't want their game to make out their graphics card? To enable shaders, open the Pause menu, and navigate to Options...>Video Settings->Shader Packs... and enable shaders! Feel free to experiment with what you think looks best and what performs best on your hardware.
Those are the basics! Take a look at the Mod Guides to find out what you can do with some of the mods we've got installed
